What is APIL?
The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) exists to help its members fight for the rights of injured people. Founded in April 1990 by a group of barristers and solicitors who wished to improve the services provided for victims of personal injury, today APIL has grown to become the trusted organisation in the promotion, encouragement and development of expertise in personal injury law.
About APIL accreditation
APIL accreditation is overseen by an independent Academic Quality Council and is well established. It has been running since September 1999. Powell Forster has applied for and been accepted to the APIL accreditation scheme.
Only Accredited members are allowed to display the APIL logo so if you don’t see it, beware as the person you may have gone to may not be the best and may not be qualified. It’s a bit like looking out for the Corgi or ABTA quality marks
APIL accredited members care for you and your family and put PEOPLE First.
An APIL accredited lawyer is committed to acting in your best interests at all times. He or she will explain how much compensation you may be entitled to and will always give you clear and honest advice with your welfare in mind. APIL accredited lawyers are specialists and receive ongoing training to make sure they are always up to date with the latest developments in personal injury law. Depending on the nature of your injury, an APIL accredited lawyer aims to restore you back to your former way of life as much as possible.
There are four levels of accreditation: litigators, senior litigators, fellows and senior fellows. Tim Powell is an accredited fellow, a commendation achieved by only a few hundred APIL lawyers in the country. He supervises all the personal injury work in the practice.
APIL accredited firms
Our firm has corporate accreditation with APIL. This distinguishes us from unqualified, or non-specialist providers of legal services for victims of accidents.
APIL is satisfied with our levels of supervision so that you can rest assured that the person looking after you has the right tools and knowledge to help you properly.
Levels of accreditation
There are different levels of accreditation which APIL lawyers can achieve depending on their experience and areas of specialisation.
You can rest assured that you have gone to the right person.
